Home Assistant Family Calendar Sync — last updated
This application is a private, personal project built and used by a single household. It is not a company, and it does not offer any service to the public. This page explains what data the application accesses and how that data is used.

With explicit permission granted through Google's own sign-in and consent screen, this application accesses Google Calendar data belonging to the Google Account(s) that authorize it — specifically calendar event details such as titles, times, dates, descriptions, and locations. Where event creation is enabled, it may also add or modify events on that same calendar.
No other Google data (email, contacts, files, location history, etc.) is requested or accessed.
Calendar data is used solely to display events on a private, self-hosted Home Assistant dashboard running on our home network, for the purpose of showing our family's shared schedule on a wall-mounted screen in our home.
Calendar data is retrieved directly from Google and processed locally by our own self-hosted Home Assistant software. It is not transmitted to, stored by, sold to, or shared with any third party, advertiser, analytics service, or external server of any kind. It never leaves our home network except for the direct connection between our Home Assistant instance and Google's own servers.
Calendar data is only kept for as long as needed to display it on the dashboard and is not separately archived or backed up beyond Home Assistant's normal, local operation.
Access can be revoked at any time by the Google Account holder via Google Account → Security → Third-party access. Once revoked, this application immediately loses all access to that account's calendar data.
This application may be used within our household by a family member who is a minor, under parental supervision, solely to display and manage their own calendar on our shared home dashboard. No data beyond what is described above is collected, and nothing is shared externally.
